Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective treatment plans and therapeutic exercises.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Stay updated on best practices in physical therapy, including advancements in acute care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and outpatient services.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
- Experience in acute care, outpatient settings, pediatrics, geriatrics, or skilled nursing facilities is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and moving patients as needed.
