Overview
Position Summary :
Nusano has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer at our Valencia, California facility. The Associate Mechanical Engineer will work with the ion source team to design and qualify new equipment for use on a particle accelerator beamline. To execute this project, we are looking to add talented people to the team who are dynamic thinkers, mission-driven, and provide diverse perspectives. This team member will be primarily responsible for close collaboration within the Accelerator Technology team to carry out critical engineering tasks as well as opportunities to optimize component designs and processes.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do :
- Assist in the design, engineering, and testing of novel ion sources for particle accelerators
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
- Assist with FEA and CFD modeling efforts for heat transfer, thermal, stress, and fatigue performance of target designs
- Write and implement procedures and process documentations
- Write test plans and participate in tests to qualify and evaluate the performance of equipment
- Present project results and designs and respond to questions concerning engineering design and operation
- Work with vendors and internal resources to fabricate, assemble, and validate components and systems
- Perform with a safety mindset at the forefront of all work
