Pay for interns still completing an undergraduate degree will be paid an hourly wage of $25.00 per hour while those currently enrolled in a graduate program will receive an hourly wage of $30.00 per hour.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible, students must be enrolled in an accredited, 4-year undergraduate degree program at a junior or senior standing, or pursuing an advanced degree. Due to timeliness and our necessary compliance with obtaining government approved authorizations, consideration is limited to those students currently eligible to work in the United States per 10 CFR Part 810 rules, and we are unable to consider students authorized to work on F-1 or M-1 Visas.
POSITION SUMMARY: This internship opportunity will be in the Plant Services and Operations group. Year-round, part-time availability is preferred, with an option to work in NuScale’s Corvallis, Oregon office. Our teams will work with interns on flexible work schedules so school can remain a priority, with the ability to ramp up to 40 hours/week during breaks. The cyber security intern will assist in the development of the cyber security program for a NuScale Small Modular Reactor. The cyber security intern will provide assistance to NuScale cyber security and operations personnel in developing material lists, classification of digital components and the application of cyber security regulations and standards. The cyber security intern may also interface with other organizations at NuScale such as engineering, supply chain and procurement on tasks related to the NuScale cyber security program during design and procurement. The cyber security intern may also work with NuScale operations personnel assisting in the development of the programs for operating and maintaining a NuScale SMR plant. This position requires self-motivated junior or senior students (or graduate level students) skilled at working and learning through remote platforms (e.g., video, phone, email).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Interact daily with NuScale design organizations to interpret their needs and requirements to manufacturing entities and c ontributes to the NuScale design organizations by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Assist with senior manufacturing engineers with project engineering duties by preparing requirements documents and schedules, coordinating and monitoring the technical aspects of assigned manufacturing and manufacturing development projects.
- Assist in the development and review of manufacturing plans and manufacturing oversight plans.
- Assist Product Cost Management team with cost estimates and value engineering studies.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing information and trends including statistical analysis of manufacturing trends under supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Education: Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited undergraduate (Junior or Senior standing) or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Cyber Security.
- Experience: A minimum of two years advanced experience using MS Word, Excel, Adobe PDF. Strong technical writing skills. Good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases.
