We’re expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our headquarters in Hudson, IL! In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks & trailers), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You’ll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or 1 years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty trailer mechanic. We need working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum’s success! Your duties include:
- Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks & trailers.
- Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
- Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
- Perform all inspections, including state and federally-mandated safety inspections.
- Perform system repairs, including air & hydraulics, tires, suspension, electrical, etc.
- Follow safe work practices.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
Schedule
- Full-time position; hiring for 2nd shift.
- Tuesday - Friday, 2:00pm - 12:30am (10hr shifts).
- Location: 19336 N 1425 East Rd, Hudson IL 61748.

- Pay range: $16 – $40 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Trainees start at $16 per hour.

Desired Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other automotive systems.
- Strong understanding of diesel automotive systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of diesel/trailer maintenance processes and methods.
- Able to navigate resource material and schematics online.
- Effective communication with colleagues and superiors.
Qualifications (Preferred but not required)
- Diesel Technician Degree OR 1 years of experience as a diesel/heavy-duty trailer technician.
- Brake and DOT Certifications.
- Welding certificate or 6 months of experience.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (monthly incentive).
- Basic toolkit and toolbox.
