Job Summary
The Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within a Adult Day Center. This position involves transporting patients to and from their homes to the Center in the AM (730am-1000am) and transporting patients from the Center back to their homes in the PM (400pm-630pm). The Patient Transporter is responsible for maintaining patient comfort and safety during transport while adhering to hospital protocols and procedures.
Duties
- Assist patients in getting on and off transport equipment as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior during transport.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transport schedules.
- Follow all safety protocols, including infection control measures.
- Provide basic life support when necessary and assist with patient care as required.
Skills
- Proficient in Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques.
- SAMA
- Some Experience in patient care.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patient transports efficiently.
This role is essential for maintaining the flow of patient care within the facility while ensuring a positive experience for patients during their time at the Center.
