Metal Designer-Engineer

Nutis Visual Communications Group is seeking a Metal Designer-Engineer to join our Digico Imaging Metal Shop team. This key individual and creative leader ensures that client, company and industry standards are consistently met. This position is on-site in our Columbus, Ohio facility.

Responsibilities:

• Applies standard drafting and design principles and theories to complete assignments.
• Works closely with production personnel and other team members to ensure a coordinated design.
• Utilizes SolidWorks to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, layouts, assemblies etc., from rough sketches and from general engineering and design information.
• Utilizes resources to ensure compliance with customer requirements, design safety factors, tolerances and applicable standards and codes.
• Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Reads and understands 2D and 3D designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
• Makes required changes, additions, and revisions, as needed.
• Stays updated on industry changes and standards and revises work Instructions relative to the field.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum 2-year technical degree.
• Prefer 3 plus years of 3-D sheet metal modeling experience.
• Previous experience working closely with a team of metal shop employees preferred.

Qualifications:

• Experienced in SolidWorks, 3-D sheet metal modeling, applicable computer tools and systems.
• Experienced in a manufacturing / sheet metal environment.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Excels in communication and teamwork.
• Highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
