- Enforce school, administrative, board, and state rules, regulations, and policies.
- Manage the school’s library collection and technology resources to ensure they are up-to-date, organized,
and easily accessible. - Design and implement engaging library media/information literacy and technology lessons aligned with the
curriculum and best teaching practices. - Develop programs that foster a love of reading and learning, such as book displays and reading challenges.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming environment that meets the needs of all students, including those with
diverse backgrounds, learning needs, and abilities. - Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to
support and enhance library media and technology-related topics.
Maintain required records, reports, and other routine assignments in an appropriate and punctual manner. - Participate in curriculum and professional development programs through in-service education, workshops,
and self-selected professional growth activities.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in library science and education, or related fields.
- Master's degree preferred.
- New Jersey Certificate: School Library Media Specialist or Associate School Library Media Specialist
(required). - New Jersey Certificate: Teacher and/or Special Education (preferred).
Experience: - Successful prior library media teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse learners preferred.
Equipment and Computer Skills: - Proficient in standard office equipment, including personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephones.
- Proficient in computer applications relevant to the position.
- Experience with Realtime SIS, Schoology, and Google Workspace preferred.
