JOB DESCRIPTION: Logistics Coordinator STATUS: Non-Exempt APPROVAL DATE: 04/04/2022
SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting customer service and delivery activities by coordinating and directing teams tasked with shipping, receiving and storage of goods. The focus is on order fulfillment and supply chain coordination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Coordinate the receipt of all inbound shipments of raw goods and transfers into the warehouse, including all documentation, system updates and internal and external communication
· Facilitate carrier operations and delivery appointments
· Maintain shipment histories and document files
· Understand and execute carrier set-up & compliance procedures & guidelines
· Dispatch drivers with a high-level of detail and input all pertinent driver/shipment details into the TMS system and continue monitoring, communicating and updating the Transportation Management System (TMS) until the completion
· Organizing and managing inventory, storage, and transportation.
· Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures.
· Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
· Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity.
· Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues.
· Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and retailers.
· Route, enter, and schedule (or reschedule) customer load tenders and related administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency
· Source (new and existing) carriers to build a pipeline/network for supporting ROAR customers and to pre-plan the use of carrier equipment for efficiency
· Review and revise KPIs throughout shipping, receiving and warehousing cycles
· Aggressive rate negotiations with carrier partners to hit target booking prices
· Provide customer fulfillment reports to management, sales and finance
· Provide back-up support as needed to other department team members to ensure customer and carrier satisfaction
· Problem solve and solutions-provider to all customers, carriers, and associates
· Prepare accurate reports for upper management
OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
PREFERRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a similar field
- 2 years’ experience in logistics
- Effective team leadership skills
- Strong record keeping abilities
- Training/knowledge/troubleshooting ability in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and SAP
Ability to communicate in individual and group settings, able to handle stressful situations calmly and patiently, attention to detail and organization, able to prioritize and demonstrate good time management skills
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
