Position Overview:
The Controller assists in the management and oversight of the company’s financial operations. The role supports the financial team in ensuring accuracy in accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with financial regulations and policies. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to senior management.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review profit and loss statements.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintaining accurate records in the general ledger.
- Process journal entries and account adjustments as required.
- Monitor and ensure proper classification of expenses and revenue.
Cost Accounting / Inventory Management:
- Assist Operations in proper inventory cycle counting and adjustment processes.
- Assist in tracking snd developing processes for cost accounting functions.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential financial risks.
- Prepare and present financial analysis reports for management review.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Help ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with financial standards.
- Assist in improving internal controls and financial procedures.
Cash Flow and Treasury:
- Assist in cash flow management and reporting.
- Support the finance team with cash forecasting and ensuring liquidity.
ERP System and Data Entry:
- Use the company’s ERP system (Deacom) to enter financial transactions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency in financial software systems.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, sales, HR) to gather relevant financial data.
- Provide support to Senior Manager and other finance team members on special projects.
- Continuously improve with accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency, accuracy & reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
- 7 years of experience in accounting or finance (internships or part-time roles may count).
- Experience in Manufacturing industry
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
