What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemistry Supervisor position at Nutritio2 LLC?
We are currently seeking a motivated, knowledgeable and skilled individual to join our team as the Chemistry Supervisor. As the Chemistry Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the chemistry department which includes a strong team of chemists and instruments such as ICP-MS, HPLC, LCMS, FTIR. Your main objective will be to ensure the quality and integrity of our products through ensuring compliance with accurate and reliable testing procedures.
Other responsibilities include:
- Develop methods within the chemistry department utilizing UPLC, LCMS, HPLC, ICP-MS, GC-MS, HPTLC and other instrumentation.
- Coordinate with the management team to develop systems and procedures to increase efficiency within the laboratory.
- Develop training and reporting documentation to improve efficacy and efficiency within the chemistry department.
- Perform and coordinate method validation activities in accordance with FDA, ICH, AOAC, and customer standards.
- Write and update laboratory standard test methods to accommodate new and modified methods.
- Train new laboratory personnel in chemical methodologies and procedures.
- Coordinate QC testing within the chemistry department.
- Conduct QC testing within the chemistry department as a backup for the chemist positions if necessary.
- Coordinate daily laboratory functions, calibrations, and verifications with chemist(s).
- Review and approve testing data and reports documenting test results and findings.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure their proper functioning.
- Adhere to and educate others on safety protocols and guidelines when handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Participate and/or lead Out of Specification (OOS) investigations and document findings appropriately.
- Other laboratory duties assigned by laboratory management.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.- 4-5 years of instrument experience in the chemistry field.
- 2-3 years of industry experience.
- Ability to coordinate with, train and supervise multiple individuals within the chemistry department.
