Position Overview:
As 101’s Plant Quality and Safety Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and quality assurance programs across all Nutrition 101 facilities. This role involves monitoring, evaluating, and improving quality control systems while maintaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement; you will collaborate closely with production teams, regulatory bodies, and leadership teams to minimize risks and ensure operational excellence and high-quality production outputs and the prevention of workplace accidents. The Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of production processes and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities for this Role:
- Learn 101’s production system and identify key quality processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections/audits of each 101 Site/Facility, identifying, documenting, and resolving quality issues including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, OSHA, SFSF, etc)
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality assurance activities. Monitor production processes to identify deviations from quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with various teams to identify process improvements. Create, revise cGMPs and train personnel on standards and best practices.
- Coordinate with all operations staff to drive process changes that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Develop and enforce health and safety policies in alignment with OSHA guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards at each site.
- Investigate workplace accidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Organize training sessions for employees on quality and safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with EHS Manager on updating/maintaining and training employees on 101’s Safety Manual and processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors during inspections and certifications. Analyze safety and quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Lead initiatives to enhance workplace safety and product quality.
- Coordinate and communicate with customers and vendors related to quality and safety issues and protocols.
- Confirm consistency across 101 operations.
- Lead initiatives to improve quality and safety metrics, such as reducing waste and workplace incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance and safety in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Relevant Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and quality assurance standards. Relevant certifications (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, AFIQ, JISO 9001, GMP) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proactive and self-driven with ability to influence action and train employees at all levels.
- Ability to travel regularly to multiple plant locations within the U.S. Travel to each of the 101 plants is a requirement, estimated at 30%-40%.

Work Environment:
- Combination of office and plant-floor environments.
- Requires the donning of personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the plant floor.
- Occasional lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking.
