Seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Food Service Manager to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality dining services for our skilled nursing and personal care residents. The Assistant Food Service Manager will support the Food Service Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and service of nutritious meals in accordance with resident dietary needs and preferences.
- Oversee dining room operations, ensuring a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for residents and guests.
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen and dining room staff to ensure efficient service.
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of food storage areas, kitchen, and dining room for cleanliness and safety.
- Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary requests and meal plans.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating resident feedback.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing resident concerns and preferences promptly.
- Maintain accurate records related to food service operations, including inventory and employee training documentation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional food service or dining room management, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and provide exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency in inventory management and menu planning.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- ServSafe Certified Preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
