Job Summary :

The Pizza Kitchen Prep Team Member is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas and related meal components for children participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and other federal child nutrition programs. This role focuses on assembling, baking, and packaging pizzas efficiently while maintaining food safety standards. The team member will also contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Day-to-day operations are guided by Kitchen Leads and management. The vision of the Pizza Prep Team is to change lives and shape culture through a commitment to servant leadership and providing nutritious meals.

Job Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Prepare and assemble pizzas according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Monitor oven operations, baking times, and temperatures to produce properly cooked pizzas.
  • Portion and prepare pizza toppings while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Adhere to Nutrition One’s HACCP plan, ensuring proper handling of ingredients to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Ensure accuracy in preparing meals for children with allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Assist in high-volume production, including slicing, portioning, and packaging pizzas for distribution.
  • Maintain clean and organized prep areas, including proper food storage and labeling.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, slicers, and portioning tools.
  • Properly dispose of food packaging and waste to maintain a sanitary workspace.
  • Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning to support overall kitchen operations.
  • Follow USDA meal patterns to ensure proper portions and compliance with nutrition guidelines.
  • Ensure professional appearance and hygiene standards as outlined in the company handbook.
  • Maintain a positive team culture, contributing to a productive and supportive work environment.
  • Uphold other company policies and procedures, including standards outlined in the N1 Handbook.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card.
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and portioning guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
  • Competence in handling kitchen equipment safely.
  • Dependability and ability to start shifts early in the morning (Prep : ~4 : 00–6 : 00 AM).
  • Detail-oriented with solutions-based problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to count large quantities of products accurately.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for longer than six hours, walk, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in environments with extreme temperatures (heat and cold).
  • Operate and use food service equipment safely.
  • Maintain focus and productivity in high-noise environments with considerable sensory stimulation.
  • Access and navigate all departments in the organization and customer facilities.
  • Drive company vehicles as required (if applicable).
  • Job Preferences :

  • At least 1 year of experience in a production kitchen or food prep role.
  • Pizza-making experience preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker strongly preferred.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • DPS-issued Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Salary Range :

  • 17.00–$18.50 per hour.
  • Position Type : Full-time, with potential seasonal adjustments (hours may decrease or cease during summer, spring, fall, and winter breaks). Part-time positions may also be available.
