PURPOSE
Nutrition Services warehouse personnel are responsible for timely, safe and efficient delivery of food and other supplies to all Columbia Public Schools kitchens, meal catering delivery, receiving and accurately counting food stock supplies and equipment, picking orders, rotating stock, warehouse cleaning and organizing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Delivering, receiving, counting, inventory, and equipment and FIFO rotation of food.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Must keep warehouse clean, tidy and organized
- Utilizes proper safety and food service sanitation
- Reports unsafe procedures or circumstances to the appropriate manager.
- Must be able to drive a box truck,
- Forklift and pallet jack trained, and experience preferred
- Regular and punctual attendance required
- Basic computer skills require
- Proof of a valid State Motor Vehicle Operators License,
- Maintain a class E license or better
- Follow federal rules
- Excellent personal hygiene consistent with food health codes.
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and works cooperatively with all employees, students, parents and the community.
- Processing incoming shipments
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Accurately picking and packing orders
- Inventory management, including stock checks, updating inventory, and identifying and reporting discrepancies.
- Receiving deliveries on snow related days.
- Must possess good communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED; Class E Driver’s License; Must be able to maneuver a box truck. Must be certified in forklift procedures, and keep certification in good standing; Must be able to become serve safe certified; Must be able to relate positively to others, have excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred: Three (3) years of prior warehouse experience, previous experience in quantity food preparation; Delivery experience and/or experience with a box truck.

Physical Demands: While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools or controls and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach, climb, bend, squat, stoop and kneel. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and use tools and climb ladders. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds. The employee will frequently push or pull items such as desks, furniture, and mechanical equipment. Specific vision requirements include close and peripheral vision and depth perception. These are essential functions of the job.
Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works indoors and occasionally works outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in temperatures that exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit and between 15-32 degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate but can occasionally be loud. These are essential functions of the job.
