Job Summary:
We are seeking an LPN to join our Medical Office team in New Canaan, CT. As an LPN, you will be responsible for assisting physicians and physician assistants with patient exams, collecting patient data, administering medications and vaccinations, and performing other clinical tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and physician assistants with patient exams, including preparing patients for exams and collecting patient data
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by physicians or physician assistants
- Perform other clinical tasks as needed, such as ear irrigation, wound care, and suture removal
- Instruct patients and families on how to perform physician-recommended preventive care, take prescribed medication, prepare for tests, monitor treatment progress, and note symptom changes
- Contact patients by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advise them of test results, or relay physician instructions
- Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement
- Complete all meaningful use requirements
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position
Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensure
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology
- Computer skills/data entry
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals
- Vaccine administration and medication preparation
