Title: Assembler
Reports to: Assembly Team Leader
Position Status: Full Time
Pay: $17.00 an hour. 1 years consistent experience may improve hourly rate.
Required Skills/Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read, write and communicate in an effective manner required.
Physical Demands: Continuous lifting of up to 40 lbs., standing, stooping, reaching, bending, and in an environment that can be warm during summer months.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work effectively with both verbal and written instructions
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Assist team in meeting goals for set up and reduction of scrap
- Workmanship is controlled and does not produce unnecessary scrap
- Read and follow work instructions, processes, and procedures
- Understand 5S and lean principles and demonstrate ability to apply them to the assembly process
- Assist the team leader with training
- Correctly fill out scrap / WIP tickets
- Cross train on multiple jobs and in different areas of production as needed
- Adhere to general shop 5S housekeeping policies
- Arrive at workstation on time everyday
- Use tools and equipment safely
- Consistently perform error free work, understands quality requirements
- Consistently perform tasks at operator cycle time
- Utilize business reading and writing skills
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Program
- Consistently work in a safe manner
- Maintain professional behavior and attitude
- Other duties as assigned
