What are the responsibilities and job description for the People Services Generalist position at Nuvision Federal Credit Union?
The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the People Services department including talent acquisition, administering pay, benefits, leave of absences, performance and talent management, recognition, daily filing, tracking documentation and enforcing company policies and practices. This position may step in as needed for the Sr. Generalist as first point-of-contact to gather information related to entry level employee relations situations when necessary, provide support in the explanation of Benefits, other inquiries related to the interpretation of company policies and practices and LOAs as they pertain to team member needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in recruitment process by posting job requisitions, contacting prospective employees, sending drug screening referral, performing background check, etc.
- Performs the overall onboarding process in assigned markets including coordinating and setting up necessary meetings, sending first day information, creating COS and sending new hire e-mail notification, creating employee file number, creating DNA number, conducting new hire orientation, onboarding on HRIS, and scanning & saving of new hire paperwork in OnBase.
- Assists the training team in facilitating new hire trainings, system trainings, and other development trainings in assigned markets.
- Maintain and send correspondence for all leaves of absence.
- Maintain team member information to support pay decision and equity efforts.
- Process employee tuition reimbursement requests
- Performs separation processes: Conducts exit interviews for assigned markets, Creates COS and sends exit notification e-mail, Sends COBRA packets.
- As needed, supports People Services team as first point-of-contact to gather information for minor issues. Logs corrective actions and/or employee relation information and detail into spreadsheets.
- Assists in employee engagement and/or team building events: Sends correspondence, answers inquiries, coordinates within the whole team, and ensures overall employment satisfaction/morale within the organization.
- Supports People Services Team in the legal compliance of employment state and federal laws, makes sure to keep up with changing and new employment laws, both federal and state level, answer questions related to employee state and federal laws & employee handbook, ensure all Labor Law Postings are in compliance and visible in each locations.
- Assist and works on projects assigned as needed and acts as back-up for Sr. Generalist. Supports maintenance of processes and procedures for the department
- Generates reports as needed for the department.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities. Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner. Maintains member, team members and other sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Assists People Services team in administering compensation and benefit plans: Enrolls new employee and dependents to benefit programs, Facilitates health and wellness fair with Sr. Generalist.
- Treats co-workers and members with respect.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Supports member relations and events that promote member centric experiences.
Qualifications:
- 3 years’ experience working in human resource discipline
- Multi-state experience
- Good understanding and utilization of regulations in regards to State and Federal requirements
- Understanding of Affirmative Action, EEOC, Titles VII & IX DOL
- Ability to work through ADP, Nautilus, Word Documents, Excel, ADP
- Written and verbal skills to effectively communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Self-starter and works efficiently to meet deadlines and to shift priorities quickly.
- Problem resolution skills and ability to identify root cause issues
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, follow up, prioritization and negotiation skills. Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, HRIS/AT systems and web based applications and complex Outlook scheduling
Education:
- 4-year degree in Business or related field
- PHR Certified preferred
