They proactively lead and direct their unit in executing all short- and long-term initiatives, which include : business development, client satisfaction, financial management, operations management, and employee advancement. Incumbents are instrumental in the planning, prioritizing, and implementing of key initiatives. This role requires a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in devising strategies to ensure growth of programs enterprise-wide and to identify and implement process improvements.Incumbents provide inspirational leadership by attracting, retaining, motivating, and developing high- caliber talent. In addition, incumbents cultivate a constructive workplace culture that encourages collaboration, teamwork, positive attitude, and provides ongoing improvement to the quality of services provided to clients.ResponsibilitiesDirect key initiatives, including but not limited to, business development, client satisfaction, financial management, operations management, and advancement of assigned personnelCommunicate regularly with Group Managers, directing execution of company initiatives, values, and / or changesEstablish operational and technical performance targets, then monitor achievement toward those targets, taking corrective action when neededAnalyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessaryAnalyze financial data and ensure financial goals are being metCollaborate with Power Delivery management, other Directors, and the marketing staff to identify and analyze strategically aligned business development opportunitiesCultivate effective relationships with existing and potential new clientsAddress customer satisfaction issuesDrive project profitability through Group Managers and Project Managers by maintaining proper qualified staffing levels for project delivery within budget and on scheduleUnderstand and abide by industry set laws and standardsEvaluate and analyze utilization and performance taking corrective action when neededDevelop Group Managers by providing coaching, feedback, and training so that they are knowledgeable, competent, and effective leadersOversee the development and training of assigned personnel and provide information to guide opportunities for advancementFoster a constructive workplace environmentIdentify and develop opportunities in new marketplaces for Power Delivery that align with the company’s market and service sectorsEstablish goal and objectives for new marketplacesDevelop and implement strategic plans that achieve business development goals and objectivesGenerate sales leads through prospecting, networking, and leveraging company-developed marketing programsEffectively engage internal resources to develop sales strategies, presentations, and plansDevelop key client relationships in new marketplaces, schedule regular meetings with clients to monitor and maintain satisfaction levelsHire and train new employees to support new marketplaces and clientsIdentify business partners and subcontractors for the mutual pursuit of opportunitiesQualificationsRequired Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant field or equivalent experienceProficiency in MS Office and other relevant software, including any technical software, as neededAt least 7 years of experience in the Power Delivery field, with progressive responsibilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and detail orientedDemonstrated experience managing teams in a dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skillsDesired Qualifications : At least 4 years of experience in a public utility or engineering consulting environmentMaster of Science degree in relevant field or Master of Business Administration degreePMP certificationMetrics : Evaluation is based, in part on the timely, accurate completion of workAttends in-house seminars and educational opportunities outside of the officesParticipates in relevant professional associations and other networking opportunitiesThe pay range for this California position is $165,000- 187,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
