Responsibilities

Our Parsippany office is seeking an Ecology Group Leader for the established Environmental Sciences Group. This is an amazing opportunity for an ecology professional to drive growth in our environmental engineering group which provides comprehensive environmental engineering services across remediation, ecology, and cultural service line. The successful applicant will have experience in delivering ecology services for transportation projects as well as an understanding of both cultural resources and remediation services.

What You’ll Do:

• Strategic Growth: Drive the growth and success of our established ecological services group.
• Leadership: Manage a talented team of environmental specialists, including wetland scientists, biologists & endangered species specialists.
• Business Development: Expand NV5’s market presence in New Jersey and beyond.
• Technical Oversight: Ensure professional project delivery and compliance with all regulations.
• Prepare proposals and project budgets; assist with marketing and Business Development
• Oversee wetland field investigations, delineations and functional value assessments.
• Oversee threatened and endangered floral and faunal habitat assessments and targeted species surveys.
• Prepare wetland and ecological permit applications in accordance with Federal and state requirements with emphasis on New Jersey and New York regulations.
• Prepare NEPA and NJ Executive Order 215 EIS, EA and CED documents
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, cost estimation, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience: 12 years in providing ecology services for Transportation and site design projects
• Leadership: Proven supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, botany, wildlife management, natural resources, or related field.
• Certified Wildlife Biologist or Professional Wetland Scientist preferred, but not required.
• Applicants must be capable of leading wetland delineations.
• Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers, New Jersey and New York permitting.
• Experience working on NJDOT and NJTA projects
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience in managing junior staff, tasks and projects
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment

Compensation: $125,000.00  – $155,000.00 per year 

Base pay offered for this New Jersey based role may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
