Overview
NV5 is actively recruiting a Program Manager within our eGIS group who possesses sound expertise in geospatial technologies and analytic methodologies. The individual must also have strong communication skills and professionalism in conveying the importance of the program to various government personnel. The position will also be expected to oversee and delegate tasks to a large team with diverse skillsets.
This job is a full-time, on-site position at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Due to federal contract requirements, the candidate must be a US Citizen and capable of attaining required security clearance. Some travel to active military installations is required.

- Travel 10-20% of the time (some occasional on-site visits required).

Responsibilities
- Organizes geospatial data maintenance and development activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the IGI&S program and delegating product requests and analysis requests to appropriate members of the team.
- Responsible for direct, daily coordination with government officials.
- Manage and support technical project team, consisting of technical specialist(s), senior analyst(s), Team Lead(s), and System Administrator(s) located in various remote offices and Army Readiness Divisions.
- Responsible for operational strategic planning and team performance.
- Acts as the direct liaison with government supervision to other components and HQ reporting, as well as to other GIS personnel throughout USAR for the IGI&S program.
- Works with team and other support staff to discover and develop application and database solutions.
- Provides geospatial and application/Portal training and informational briefs to Army supervisory personnel.
- Reviews various documents, memoranda and policies, both in draft and final form, to identify relevant equities and providing recommendations aligned with the IGI&S program’s mission and goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in physical or natural science, geography, engineering, planning, computer science or a related field.
- Five years of experience in program management/project management.
- Preference will be given to applicants with DoD program/project management experience.
- Experience in technical writing (able to provide sample upon request).
- Ability to communicate highly technical information.
- Extensive QA/QC experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required to comply with government contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.
- Three years or more of GIS experience with Army IGI&S, Army Installation Atlas and ePRISMS data.
- Two years or more experience in managing/supervising a team with diverse skillsets.
- Experience in public speaking; preference will be given to those with experience in conducting training.
- Experience with GIS Data Quality Control and Assurance of governmental data standards (ie SDSFIE).
- Experience using GPS equipment.
- Familiarity with Army real property and space management policies and procedures.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
