The position will require actively working on several concurrent projects while ensuring efficiency, accuracy and top-quality work is being delivered to our clients.This is a Work From Home position and we are open to major markets other than those listed.
Responsibilities
Key contributor within a project design team, bringing a future-perspective of technology
Design customized IT infrastructure and structured cabling solutions, which may include : Entrance Facilities, Telecomm Rooms, pathways and other infrastructure; wired / wireless and copper / fiber Structured Cabling Systems to support voice / data / video applications; Outside Plant; Distributed Antenna Systems, Data Center technologies and other leading-edge IT solutionsDesign customized Building Security solutions, which may include : video surveillance systems, access control, intrusion detection, emergency telephones and other innovative Security technologiesAdvise our clients on Crime Prevention Through Environmental DesignAssist with business development activities as requestedDevelop and direct the documentation of high-quality infrastructure construction drawings, details, cost analysis and specifications language; this is often accomplished via PDF markups with BlueBeam and directing our CAD staff to document the project in Revit; may involve documenting the project in Revit, depending on your skill levelCollaborate with MEP and architectural team members and guide clients through the technology selection processReview submittals and shop drawings, coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and consultantsPerform site walk-throughs to review adherence to standards and proceduresStay abreast of emerging technologies products / services, guidelines, standards and their applicability to potential projectsEnsure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within NV5's high standards of qualityQualifications
Five years consulting experience in the design and specification of structured cabling systems, IT spaces, security systems and cable plant projectsIntimate knowledge of services, hardware, infrastructure and systems architecture for ITCP-TED experience desired but not requiredExcellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to meet deadlines and honor commitmentsValues that include integrity, accountability and a willingness to have funWorks equally well as an individual contributor or a collaborative team memberMaintains a professional and positive attitude in a fast paced and occasionally high-pressure environmentHigh level of proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft OfficeGeneral proficiency in AutoCad and RevitBICSI Certification (active RCDD or test-ready; ITS Installer-1, or ITS Installer-2; additional certifications including OSP, WD); ASIS certificationBachelor's degree in a technical field desired; equivalent industry experience will be consideredPLUSES : PE or additional industry certifications; experience with network electronic systems design, audiovisual systems, higher education, or healthcare; strategic technology master planning; experience in business development for professional servicesThe pay range for this Washington DC position is $100,000- $130,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions.
