Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Equine Veterinary Assistant / Office Help to join our team. This role is a combination of hands-on equine care and clerical support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with performance horses, assisting veterinarians in the field, and handling office tasks such as scheduling, client communication, and medical record management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures, including jogging horses, holding for radiographs, and handling medications.
Maintain accurate medical records, client communications, and inventory management.
Schedule appointments and coordinate daily field visits efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service through phone, email, and in-person interactions with clients.
Keep veterinary equipment and supplies organized and stocked.
Travel to farms, racetracks, and equine events as needed.
Qualifications:
✔ Experience handling horses, preferably in a racing, sport horse, or farm setting.
✔ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing schedules.
✔Excellent communication and customer service skills.
✔ Basic computer proficiency for scheduling and record-keeping (experience with veterinary software is a plus).
✔ Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
✔ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
