Ophthalmic Technician is needed in busy Retina Practice. As an ophthalmic technician you will assist physicians and work with clinical/clerical staff to facilitate the efficient daily clinic flow of patients. Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and written/verbal communication skills are required -- multilingual, although not required, is a plus. Job-related experience is required. Computer literacy is required. This is a great opportunity for a warm, detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Must have a full knowledge on working up patients, such as taking a full past systemic and ocular history, vision check, confrontational, applanation IOP check,  and other pre-exam diagnostic procedures.
• Assist Minor procedures, such as Intravitreal injections, Laser procedures include the following: PRP, Focal, MPL, PPX, Barrier lasers. Other minor procedures include PDTs, AFX, C3F8, Vitreous taps.
• Refill prescriptions, pre-authorize medications, review post-op intructions with patients, educate patients on Dx and Tx.
• Answer phone calls to triages patient's questions or concerns.
• Perform diagnostic testings: OCT, VF, wide OCT, OCTA, Fundus Photography, etc.... 

Qualifications

• COA preferred, but willing to train and will financially support for certification process
• Must have a good knowledge on electronic health records (EHR)
• Good at fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player
