We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients by managing appointments, coordinating care, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires strong communication skills and familiarity with medical terminology, as well as proficiency in various electronic healthcare software systems.
This position is primarily responsible for acting as the first point of contact for all patients in a high traffic medical office and surgical suite. Duties include phone management, initial screening of calls to determine information that is needed, confirming and rescheduling appointments, insurance verification, collecting copays and maintaining an electronic record for patient's chart. We are a close-knit team looking forward to welcoming a new team member. Experience with Nextgen is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients in an enthusiastic manner as they arrive
- Manages phones: screens calls to determine information that is needed, confirms and reschedules appointments.
- Coordinates patient files and ensures that proper documentation is maintained in EHR
- Verifies insurance and plan details as needed
- Obtains prior authorizations for any medical patients.
- Collects copays and fees
- Scans and enters insurance cards and ID Cards ensuring accurate information.
- Prepare charts for next day's appointments.
- Coordinates with team members and Dr's to facilitate the best possible care for our patients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
