Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct in-depth analyses and reasonableness tests for income statement accounts.
- Complete month-end closing checklists and follow established month-end procedures.
- Account for and process Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) expenses, as well as intercompany transactions.
- Prepare audit, tax, and insurance schedules; engage in compliance activities.
- Review and post General & Administrative (G&A) accounts payable expenses to appropriate general ledger codes, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Maintain and update all sub-schedules related to expense allocations by branch as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and Board reports.
- Support the development of budget templates and input the final budget into the financial system.
- Collaborate with the Controller and CFO in the annual audit process.
- Cross-train with the Staff Accountant on bank and credit card reconciliations, various balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, and the creation of monthly journal entries.
- Collaborate with the Payroll team to assist with payroll processing and related journal entries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Positive attitude and high energy; proven success in a collaborative team environment.
- Interest in and understanding of the distribution industry.
- Strong grasp of general accounting concepts and processes.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with all levels of business partners.
- Proficient in using accounting software applications and processes.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong focus on readiness for work.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
