What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Specialist position at NVVA?
The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA), is proud to provide high-quality volleyball training opportunities for over 2,500 hundred athletes in the state of Virginia. Our operations team is responsible for supporting our programs through the maintenance and upkeep of our facility and inventory in order to provide high-quality volleyball training. As a member of the team, you have a vital supporting role which keeps our programs running smoothly. You will also ensure that our operations and front line customer service are efficient by communicating and learning with other members of our operations team. NVVA’s number of programs generates a constant stream of challenges that require you to continually adapt and use critical thinking and problem solving skills. Keeping our facility and support operations up to date and running efficiently ensures the safe growth of our athletes and in turn volleyball.
Minimum qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience working as a team member in a fast paced environment or equivalent school/team experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in adjusting to changing priorities and make quick decisions
- Experience in working in a team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Demonstrative skills in effective customer service, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
- *Managing entrance and exit procedures
- *Monitoring players during practice
- *General stocking and inventorying of supplies
- *Basic sanitation and organizing of the facility
- *Supply distribution to athletes, coaches, and staff
- *Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager, or the Shift Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday
- The physical requirements of this job require frequent walking around and moving items related to the support of the facility operations which include bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting on a daily basis.
