What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surrogate Coordinator position at NW Surrogacy Center?
The basics
Northwest Surrogacy Center, LLC is seeking a Surrogate Coordinator to join our growing team. We are looking for a warm, personable, detail-oriented employee to communicate with potential and current gestational surrogates.
The position
Surrogacy is a unique and rewarding experience, and there are many agencies for potential surrogates to choose from. A focus of your role is to engage with people who reach out to our agency (you’ll never make any cold calls!) to help them understand the experience and persuade them why they should work with our agency. Successful candidates can engage easily and warmly over the phone, and quickly build rapport. Daily tasks include interviewing potential surrogates by phone, video conferencing, and occasionally in-person to determine their eligibility; reviewing surrogate applications; telling candidates about the surrogacy process and answering their questions; emailing and following up with potential surrogates; guiding them through the screening process; maintaining internal records and databases; using critical thinking skills in combination with NWSC’s collective knowledge base of surrogacy to make judgement calls on potential surrogates; and various other tasks as needed.
About you
The ideal candidate will enjoy talking with others and will have a sensitive demeanor on the phone, in person, and in writing; excellent writing skills; a meticulous attention to detail; the ability to maintain multiple threads of communication at any given time; and a soft sales approach to their work. They will take pleasure from helping our team run smoothly and providing support where it’s needed, from large projects to small. The best candidate will also have experience with lead conversion (into opportunities or sales or the equivalent) and/or experience in persuasion, marketing, and/or audience engagement.
Knowledge of pregnancy or surrogacy is a plus but not required. Candidate must be willing to openly discuss medical issues, including pregnancy and delivery, as well as other personal information with potential surrogates. Candidate must be comfortable making and sensitively communicating difficult decisions about eligibility. Candidate must be comfortable working with LGBTQ and ethnically diverse staff, clients, and surrogates. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Why should you choose us?
The immediate team you will be joining is a close-knit, friendly group of twelve people who truly enjoy one another and are deeply invested in the success of our team and the well-being of our surrogates.
Overall, our organization is a group of 35 people who come from various backgrounds but share a unique work ethic. Our office culture is intimate, supportive, collaborative, and extremely focused. Everyone pulls their own weight, and everyone is highly valued. Also, we have fun! We’re looking for someone who wants to join our team long term.

We work in a fascinating, unusual, rewarding field. We want to hear why, specifically, you want to work for our organization.
