Web-Based Video Interviewing Capabilities Required – Candidates who are selected for screening interviews must have the ability to access and utilize a web-based video interviewing product. Candidates will need to provide and have access to a computer, laptop, or an acceptable mobile device such as a tablet computer with good internet access, audio listening capabilities, a microphone, and a web camera. Candidates must have the ability to accept a user agreement and software download of a web-based video interviewing product which we will provide.

Starting Salary Range : Starting salary is up to $65,953 / yr (FY2025)

Job Summary

This position coordinates and analyzes college grants; researches grant opportunities; facilitates grant development process with internal and external campus partners; writes grant proposals and completes applications; and ensures grant objectives and institutional objectives align.

Develops short-term and long-term college grant funding priorities based upon the college’s strategic mission and vision and in collaboration with the Grants Leadership team (GLT), and implements a comprehensive, proactive plan to expand and enhance funding sources from granting entities. Educates campus about NWC priorities and grants processes as well as best practices in grants development.

Researches and advises Project Leaders and the GLT on corporate, private, local, state, and federal funding trends.

Performs grant research to include : determining appropriate research methods; identifying grants that align with the College’s mission, vision, and strategic plan; assessing institutional compliance requirements and administrative burden; preparing grant summaries; presenting grant opportunities to the Grants Leadership Team (GLT), and proposing individuals to serve on the Project Planning Team (PPT).

Performs grant development activities to include : collaborating with Grant Project Leaders and Project Planning Teams to develop the scope of fundable projects (i.e. needs analysis, goals and objectives, activities, and evaluation strategies); documenting all applicable laws and regulations and compliance requirements (as applicable) while also meeting the funders’ requirements.

Performs grant writing to include : coordinating work with Project Planning Teams to articulate and write project narratives, budgets, and timelines to produce highly competitive grant proposals.

Monitors proposal deadlines and submission requirements, maintains accurate and timely records to track progress of multiple award applications. Acts as NWC’s Authorized Organization Representative and ensures submission of the final application(s) to the funder via the required submission method. Maintains and updates submission portals (grants.gov, research.gov, state submission portals) to ensure appropriate permissions are in place to facilitate the submission of applications.

Reviews awarded grants in comparison to submitted applications. Reviews award documentation, scope deliverables, and budget; verifies compliance requirements; identifies significant changes; develops a recommendation for the Grant Leadership Team for acceptance or rejection of the awarded grant.

Facilitates a transition of awarded and accepted grants to the Grant Project Team; assigns compliance responsibilities and deadlines.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Required Training and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Language Arts, Communications, Business, or related field, and at least 3 years of demonstrated experience writing successful grant proposals; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
