NORTHWEST EYECARE PROFESSIONALS is a Specialty Eye Care Clinic with multiple locations around the Portland Oregon area, focusing on neuro visual system, and syntonic therapy, along with vision, dry eye, ocular diseases, myopia management, infantSEE, specialty contact lenses, and more.
Role Description
We are currently looking to bring in 2 full-time on-site Opticians at NORTHWEST EYECARE PROFESSIONALS, one will be in Vancouver, WA and one role will be in Clackamas with possibility to float between Vancouver and Hillsboro clinics.
The Optician will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses or contact lenses by interpreting prescriptions and helping patients choose eyewear that is right for their needs. Ongoing training and education provided, and while the position does not require ABO certification, it is encouraged. Understanding or desire of understanding prisms and lens tints. Billing knowledge of VSP/Eyemed experience a plus. Contact lens knowledge encouraged. Additional back office duties including thorough verification of prescriptions, troubleshooting unique visual cases, ensuring customer satisfaction, and assisting with optometry services including soft contact lenses.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Optics and Optometry
- Experience in troubleshooting Rx and frame adjustments
- Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to patients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience as an optician required (3 yrs experience)
- Certified by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) or the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) is a plus
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Optometry, Ophthalmic Dispensing, or a related field is preferred
