Pay: $15.00 - $35.00 per hour

Location: Richland, WA

NWFF Environmental is seeking ideal candidates willing to learn a life-long trade within the Umbrella of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) field. The EH&S field is expansive and can lead to various specialties such as Industrial Tank Cleaning, Occupational Health and Safety Facility Inspections, Regulatory negotiations and client representation, Hazardous Materials Abatement, Respiratory Protection, Hazardous, and Non-Hazardous soil remediation planning, permitting, and excavation, and a multitude of other EH&S opportunities overseen by career-minded top-tier credentialed professionals.

  3. Surveys & Assessments (HMBS, Lead-Based Paint, Asbestos, Universal Wastes)
  4. Abatement Services (Mold, Lead, Asbestos, Rodent)
  5. Disaster Continuity Planning (ICS, Training, etc.)
  6. Remediation Support/Design (Chemistry, Geology, Insitu Remediation, ex-situ Remediation)
  7. Regulatory Interface & Support (EPA, OSHA, DOT, State of AK, OR, WA, ID, AZ)
  8. EH&S Consultancy (H&S Plans, Noise, Occupational Exposure)
  9. Confined Space & Tank Specialist (Industrial tank cleaning, rescue, UST licensed worker, etc.)

Duties (may include, but not limited to): 

 

  • Environmental cleanup operations in and out of energized power substations
  • Oil spill response
  • Work in & around water
  • Commercial vehicle operations
  • Equipment operations: hand tools (hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, gas powered), forklift, and heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, backhoes)
  • Deploying, retaining, and processing of absorbent materials

 

Qualifications 

  • Legal to the United States
  • Valid driver’s license & satisfactory driving record for past three years
  • Pre-employment drug test
  • Pre-employment DOT physical & medically qualified to wear a respirator
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Safe work practices
  • Available to work any day of the week and weekends
  • Available for after hour emergency response
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in high pressure circumstances and achieve required deadlines
  • Ability to wear a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. (SCBA)
  • Ability to work in a level B suit (self-contained suit) and SCBA for up to three hours.

 
Preferred Credentials
 

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (training available)
  • CDL
  • TWIC
