Key Functions
- Examines lumber on chain conveyor, or in racks for defects such as knots, stains, decay, splits,
faulty edges, pitch pockets, wormholes, and defective milling. - Grades lumber to ensure specified dimensions.
- Tallies pieces of lumber according to grade and board footage.
- Removes unsatisfactory pieces from conveyor or table and places pieces on stacks, in bins, or on carts.
- Scales board footage and records results.
- Pulls graded lumber into unit form
- Willing to learn/follow NHLA Lumber grading guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience grading lumber
- Exhibit high level of flexibility.
- Excellent attendance record
- Excellent communication skills
- Team Player and Self-Starter
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
