Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Sign-on bonus $2,250
Reports to: ORP Director
Job Purpose
To provide daily physical therapy treatment and component assessment to the clients of NWRTW under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist (PT). Client treatment will include a variety of physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Client Care
- Assist the PT in the implementation of treatment programs and treatment progression.
- Guide clients through program orientation.
- Regular interaction and education with clients.
- Modifying client programs under the direction of the PT.
- Monitoring clients and clinic environment for safety.
- Collaborate with PT to develop changes new exercise programs and progression.
- Daily review with PT the progress and/or challenges with clients program.
- Administer evaluation components after achieving documented competence.
- Provides customer service surveys.
- Participates in weekly client care conferences and attends staff meetings.
- Participates in program evaluation and additional CARF program responsibilities as assigned (e.g. Health and Safety, Annual Planning, etc.).
Written Documentation
- Daily notes are to be completed for each treatment encounter by the end of each day with corresponding charges.
- Set up and completion of evaluation sections assigned by PT.
- Assist with Quality Assurance (QA) for documents and program.
- Track professional competencies established with PT (evaluation components, range of motion, MMT, modality use, etc.)
- Additional documentation as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completed accredited program for Physical Therapist Assistant with corresponding licensure.
- Current, unrestricted state licensure (free from disciplinary action).
- Membership in professional organization (state and or national).
- CPR certification.
- One-year experience working in a rehabilitation setting is preferable.
- Sound knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook e-mail & Scheduling.
- Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
- Capacity to negotiate complex claims requiring sensitivity, flexibility, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
- Safe operation of exercise and treatment modality equipment.
Working Conditions
Work primarily in an indoor, outpatient setting, primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Periods of frequent movement including walking, standing, and stabilizing clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.79 - $35.21 per hour DOE
