Shipping Specialist - Part Time Seasonal

Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays - 9:30am - 2:30pm & 3:00pm - 8:00pm

Season: 3 to 5 months

Summary:

This position is responsible for assuring that outbound orders are processed and shipped accurately and timely, maintaining 100% compliance with customer expectations.

Primary Duties:

• Manage dock safety light system and trailer safety process.
• Make sure proper safety equipment and ergonomics are used to safely perform functions.
• Perform all fulfillment functions: picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipping
• Perform palletizing of product onto shipping pallet while scanning and validating each box.
• While moving items from one location/container to another location/container, inspect each item and confirm there are no defects, and all counts are accurate.
• Assure that the correct quantity is packed and palletized prior to shipping.
• Assure that all exceptions are identified, documented, and reported to the lead or supervisor.
• Provide support in locating, re-selecting and/or backordering missing all products.
• Perform physical put-away of product into location or selection of product from location while validating that the correct product is being updated in the inventory system using handheld scanner and/or voice validation technology.
• Verify accurate counts validating with scan or voice technology while performing all functions
• Assure that orders are being processed in the proper sequence so that order cut times are met.
• Work with Sr. Shippers and Leads to properly handle overpulls or other inventory matters identified.
• Clean and organize your work area and the department using approved methods.
• Maintain productive pace while working in a safe and efficient manner.

• Ability to be on your feet for entire shift
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly)
• Adaptable and flexible to organizational workflow needs
• Display reliable attendance
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Understand and respond to written and verbal instructions

Compensation: The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The estimated starting base pay for this role is $18 per hour. This position is seasonal and is not eligible for benefits other than PTO.
