SUMMARY
NY Enrichment Group is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to lead Nutrition Education for Older Adults as part of a comprehensive life skills program. This role is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge in nutrition, meal planning, and healthy living, helping them to enhance their overall well-being and independence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community health, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to empowering individuals with life-enhancing nutrition knowledge.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver interactive sessions covering key life skills topics, such as healthy meal planning, financial literacy for grocery shopping, and stress management through nutrition.
- Provide weekly class outlines and bilingual handouts to reinforce learning.
- Plan and execute cooking demonstration workshops, including preparing bilingual recipes and procuring necessary ingredients (stipend provided for ingredients).
- Educate participants on practical life skills such as meal preparation, portion control, and making informed food choices to promote long-term well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Experience in community programs, nutrition education, and cooking demonstrations.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire participants, making nutrition education accessible and applicable to their daily lives.
- Self-starter with a proactive and professional approach to program delivery.
