90 year old privately held owner/management company based in Great Neck is looking for energetic and detail-oriented individuals with strong communication skills. This is a full-time position. Must have excellent computer skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate should be capable of working with employees throughout the organization and interacting with building residents as well. We are looking for someone who is capable of working independently and can assist us in providing a high level of service.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the charging, receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. Additionally, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing the deposit and withdrawal of security deposits
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Records and reconciles daily cash deposit receipt batches to daily bank statements
- Applies tenant payments to ledgers
- Make adjustments to tenant accounts as needed
- Reconcile monthly security deposit general ledgers and bank statements
- Reconcile monthly rent/vacancy schedules to the general ledger
- Deposits and withdraws security deposit checks
- Prepares and tracks security deposit refund correspondence
- Compiles scanned copies of correspondence, refund checks, proof of mailing and other documents to upload to tenant drive for company records
- Screens rent-stabilized/controlled tenant rent checks
- Processes MCI increases, MBR adjustments, RE Tax escalations (including billing and letter notifications vial mail), SCRIE/DRIE requests
- Processes miscellaneous charge-backs and check requests
- Answers tenant inquiries about billing, security deposits, and other accounting related matters * Perform monthly billing process
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent vocational/technical training preferred, but necessary
- 3-5 years’ previous experience in AR, experience in the real estate industry preferred
- Previous experience with MDS or a comparable accounting software program
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills Company Description Salary commensurate with experience
