Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Office Assistant - St. Peter's Hospital Day Care - FT Day Position Summary: Perform various functions within the child care center as required including reception, help with meeting and training schedule, coordinate with security for parent badging, assist in classrooms as needed and manage closing of the building at the end of the day. The colleague must be well organized, able to use problem solving skills to help support the needs of the center. The position requires good communication skills when working with parents, children, staff and visitors to the center. Must have knowledge of OCFS regulations and help with maintaining compliance. The position requires the ability to multi-task and at times help in emergency situations. Education Requirements: High School Diploma required; AAS degree preferred. Must have prior experience working in a Child Care setting. Experience Requirements: Exceptional interpersonal skills Good organizational skills Strong communication skills and ability to deal with parents, children, staff, or visitors Strong multitasking skills Ability to work in and communicate in a fast paced environment Computer skills Principal Responsibilities: 1. Customer Service: *Provides front desk reception for Child Care Center in a professional and personable manner using best Customer Service skills. Greets all visitors, children, staff and vendors to building *Responds appropriately to complaints and/or requests with diplomacy and professionalism and follows up with appropriate member of administration to resolve the problem in a timely manner *Maintain confidentality of children and staff information * Maintain parent badge list and work with security for issuing badges * Maintain wait list and communication with families on list 2. Administrative Support: * Maintain an atmosphere of positive Customer Service in office and reception desk * Ability to work independently and as part of the administrative team * Maintain files in office to keep records upt to date as required by OCFS * Generate work orders for classrooms, offices and facility * Assist kitchen staff when needed * Assist with special events and fundraising * Inventory of supplies and ordering needed items 3. Assist with operation of center hours: * Responsible for closing the building securely at the end of the day * Remain in building until all childdren have been picked up by parent or guardian * Check the building once all children and staff have left the building following closing procedures 4. Other Responsibilities: * Maintains their work area and the work area of the desk in a clean, safe, and organized manner * Assists with other duties as assigned * Assist with classroom coverage to maintain state required ratios during bathroom and lunch breaks * Complete all state required training and training assigned by SPHP * Maintain centerwide birthday and staff board * Order birthday snacks for children from kitchen All new employees are required to undergo and pass all applicable state and federally mandated pre-employment screening requirements. Pay range: $16.20-$220.75 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
