What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1:1 ComHab (DSP) for Person with Special Needs – Colonie, NY [JM] position at NY Support Broker?
I'm a 24-year-old who is on the spectrum. I prefer the pronouns he/him. I direct my own services with the help of my mom, who I live with. I am sociable, independent, and love to meet new people. I have a job and can drive. I'm looking for a Community Habilitation worker (Direct Service Provider) to assist me with my activities of daily living. The job is less about direct care, and more about finding an assistant who can help me navigate the community and build my independence.
This is a 1-on-1 position paid at $25/hr.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Assistance in the home and out in the community.
-Assisting with or providing help with household responsibilities to include, but not limited to: meal preparation and cooking, cleaning, grocery & supply shopping, etc.
-Ensure my safety at home and in the community.
Qualifications:
-High School diploma or GED is required. Valid NYS driver’s license and personal transportation is required.
-Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment and complete necessary documentation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
