We’re seeking a paid caregiver (Direct Support Professional) to work 1-on-1 with our daughter, a 9-year-old girl with mild intellectual disability and cerebral palsy. She is a bright, affectionate, and energetic child who loves imaginative play, swimming, Legos, and animals. She is highly social, enjoys being active, and thrives on routine and engagement.
We'll be starting with weekend shifts -- Saturday 10a -2p and Sunday 10a - 2p.
This is a one-on-one position starting at $23/hr.
SATURDAYS: 10a - 2p
SUNDAYS: 10a - 2p

Responsibilities:
- Provide care, encouragement, and companionship to a child with special needs.
- Supervise at home, in the community, and during recreational activities.
- Transport to activities like swimming, Special Olympics, and therapeutic riding.
- Support with personal care routines (dressing, hygiene, toileting reminders).
- Assist with household tasks like meal preparation, tidying up, and organizing activities.
- Promote safe movement, street safety, and water safety awareness.
- Encourage social interactions, playdates, and participation in community programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and provide consistent support.
