About us
We are a private wine club, events space, and wine bar located in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, spanning three floors and home to the largest wine cellar on the island.
*Overview*
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our service team. Reporting to the Director of Events, you will be responsible for delivering professional wine service to members, private events, and wine bar guests.
*Responsibilities*
- Coordinate with the Director of Events to determine wine service needs and standards for each day's bookings.
- Execute wine service tableside including the proper handling of vintage wines, decanting, pouring, and educating guests on each wine, when requested.
- Utilize the house RESERVE LIST to sell additional wines to members, private event clients, and wine bar guests.
- Assist event staff with event service–including food running, food clearing, glass polishing, etc.–when needed.
- Other duties typical to front of house staff.
*Skills*
- The ideal candidate is someone who understands that wine sales and service are not just about knowing a collection of facts but being able to establish relationships with guests and being able to do so in an instant. Interpersonal skills, charisma, and hospitality-mindedness are essential to this role.
- Strong knowledge of fine wine including benchmark regions, producers, and vintages.
- NYC restaurant experience, ideally 3 years.
- Spirits knowledge is a bonus, but not required. There are opportunities for additional work for those with knowledge of and a passion for bartending.
- Proficiency in POS systems for order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices in the food industry.
This role has no set schedule and weekly hours are dependent on the schedule of events in the space. As such, the ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule. Our busiest days are Tuesday-Thursday from 4PM-10PM.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
