Job Summary:
The Produce Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper management of the fresh produce section in the supermarket. Their main role is to maintain the fruit, vegetable, and legume section clean, organized, and visually appealing to customers. They are responsible for managing product orders, receiving supplier deliveries, and organizing the storage area efficiently to ensure product freshness and quality.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities in the Produce area, ensuring compliance with quality and presentation standards.
• Place orders for fresh produce according to the supermarket's needs, ensuring adequate stock without generating excess that could lead to losses.
• Receive supplier deliveries, verifying that the merchandise meets established quality and freshness standards.
• Organize the Produce storage area in a way that facilitates efficient product rotation, applying the "first in, first out" (FIFO) system.
• Ensure that display products remain fresh and in optimal condition, removing those that are damaged.
• Keep the Produce area clean, tidy, and visually appealing to customers, using best practices in product presentation.
• Train and supervise Produce staff to ensure they follow established procedures.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to implement strategies that boost fresh produce sales.

Required Profile:

• Previous experience in managing fresh produce in supermarkets or similar businesses.
• Extensive knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and legumes, including their characteristics, handling, and preservation.
• Organizational skills for managing inventories, storage, and product rotation.
• Ability to work in a team and lead Produce area staff.
• Responsible, proactive, and detail-oriented individual.
• Customer service skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations.

Working Conditions:

• Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed by the supermarket.
• Work in an environment that requires moderate physical activity, including lifting boxes of fresh produce and moving continuously throughout the work area.
