General Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee, schedule and provide direction to staff for the safety and effective running of breakfast, lunch, locker room, and other duties required for the running of a safe school environment
- Assist with clerical duties i.e.; copies, answering telephones and making phone calls to parents
- Organize the maintenance and distribution school supplies
- Organize and run staff development meetings for school aides
- Meets with the Principal, or other supervisory staff and/or teachers to discuss and coordinate work assignments
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Demonstrated ability to relate to pedagogical supervisors, understand the goals of the school administration and ensure compliance of subordinates in the performance of all activities
- Demonstrated ability to implement procedures according to instructions
- Demonstrated ability to take direction
- Demonstrated ability to control and direct large groups of students, maintain order and discipline as necessary and appropriate
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both an oral and written manner
- Demonstrated ability to organize work and maintain written records of activities
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively under pressure
- Punctuality and attendance must be exemplary
- Maintaining of Records
- Assist in clerical responsibilities
- Ability to determine subordinates' capabilities and schedule work assignments in accordance with skills
- Hold certification in CPR/First Aid/AED Heart saver program
- Hold a Supervising School Aide certificate
- Two or more years of continuous service in the bargaining unit
- Demonstrated ability to use ATS and other DOE computer systems
- Ability to use the PC computer including Microsoft Word
