The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the city.
DEP's Fleet Services Division oversees the purchase, use, maintenance and management of DEP vehicles, special equipment, and related services. Fleet Services also monitors compliance with NYC Fleet and Vision Zero mandates, fuel and E-ZPass rules, parking and traffic regulations, and driver safety initiatives. The dynamic Fleet Services team provides complete life cycle management (design / build, distribution / maintenance, and relinquishment) of approximately 5,000 pieces of equipment throughout the 5 boroughs and NYC’s unique watershed.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Job Duties/Tasks
- Maintain the Collision database (CRASH).
- Check various databases and collect data. Perform updates.
- Perform responsible clerical work in various administrative and operational areas by processing, recording, checking, and maintaining records, furnishing information, and preparing reports.
- Assist in preparing and arranging for services and activities.
- Work closely with ODHR and DCAS to upgrade the Fleet Management Database for Collision Management.
- Assist in the performance of administrative duties or performs difficult and responsible clerical tasks related to shop and field operations; receiving and transmitting radio and telephone messages; maintaining all time and personnel records of shop or field location; requisitioning supplies and maintaining shop inventory control of stock; typing and operating other automated office equipment.
