The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

The Budget Review Insurance Compliance and Contract System (BRICCS) team is searching for a

Budget and Reporting Associate to manage the implementation and coordination of DYCD’s fiscal

policies in provider submitted budgets processed by DYCD’s BRICCS Unit.

Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of BRICCS, the Budget Review Analyst will:

  • Monitor and evaluate budget and budget modification submissions by funded Community Based Organizations.
  • Perform analyses of the submitted documents and review program plans and funding allocations.
  • Provide authoritative interpretation of complex problems and budgetary deficiencies and clearly communicating them back to the CBOs.
  • Provide technical assistance, as needed, to all stakeholders.
  • Act directly as the long-term manager of a specific portfolio of Community Based organizations. In addition, the

associate will be tasked with running daily/ weekly reports on budget processing

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058

Minimum Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred Skills

Strong Excel skills (Vlookup, XLookup, pivot tables, etc..) - Experience with PASSPort, will be considered a plus. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Professional telephone manner. - Well organized and detailed oriented. - Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
