Summary
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Learning & Development (L&D) Unit is responsible for overseeing the agency’s learning strategy and for ensuring OMB employees get the training, resources, information, and practice they need to do their best work. L&D collaborates with all divisions, task forces, and units within OMB.
Job Description
The New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget is looking for a Training & Event Coordination Intern for their Learning & Development (L&D) Unit. The role will focus on the logistics and administration for OMB's summer events including our speaker series OMB Institute.
Responsibilities
Undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university. Strong analytical, research and communications skills are required. Candidates must have familiarity in MS Word and Excel
To participate in the OMB Summer Internship Program, undergraduate students must be enrolled or accepted into a college or university.

Minimum Qualifications
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.

- Assist in the logistics and administration for the OMB Institute speaker series, coordinating registration, calendars, room set-ups, audio/video needs, materials, and speaker needs.
- Create, prepare, and update marketing materials for the many internal OMB summer events.
- Provide administrative support for department activities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and quick to adapt to new technology.
- Enjoys collaborating in a team environment.
- Experience with event planning and/or creating marketing materials a plus.
