The Complaint Room at the Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County, is seeking an experienced attorney (4 years) to serve as a supervisor of attorneys and legal writers in ECAB (Early Case Assessment Bureau), which includes the Complaint Room, DAT Unit and Arraignments. This position involves the supervision and training of staff and the day-to-day oversight of the processing and arraignment of cases in the District Attorney’s Office.

Job Responsibilities
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Train newly hired and promoted Assistant District Attorneys, DAT Writers, and Legal Writers in case processing, interviewing witnesses, case file preparation, and proper courtroom practices
- Supervise the daily operation of ECAB, which includes the Complaint Room, DAT Unit, and Arraignment parts, with a focus on ensuring that arrest matters are drafted and arraigned within the
- Examine and review legal issues that constantly arise with respect to arrest matters and make decisions on the prosecution of these arrest matters based on a review and examination of the
- Examine and review accusatory instruments for accuracy, proper charging, and facial sufficiency.
- Answer legal questions and review cases drafted by the DAT Unit.
- Handle all telephone inquiries from OCA, NYC Police Department, other law enforcement agencies, non-legal city agencies, defense attorneys, and the general public.
- Supervise the arraignment parts when necessary. Arraign press cases and address complex matters in court.
- Access the ZOLPA system and prepare Chrono reports in order to access the status of cases that are arraigned or awaiting to be drafted in monitoring the arrest to arraignment time on such
- Serve as the BXDA liaison with Corporation Counsel (Family Court) with respect to Adolescent Offenders, Juvenile Offenders and Juvenile Delinquents matters in the Complaint Room.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Juris Doctorate degree required
- Admission to the New State Bar required
- US Citizenship and New York State Residency are required
- 4 years of trial experience or the equivalent and prior management experience preferred
- 18 months experience in training or lecturing
- Ability to work and supervise others in remote settings
- Excellent people skills and demeanor
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment and strong ethics
- Ability to analytically solve issues or problems from inception through conclusion
