NYCERS is recruiting for two (2) Full-time Contact Center Agent’s in our Contact Center Unit within the Client Services Division to provide a great customer experience to their clients who serve the City of New York. The ideal candidates should possess effective communication skills to effectively engage with customers contacting New York City Employees’ Retirement System seeking guidance and information related to retirement benefits. Their duties include the following:

- An associate degree or completion of 60 credits from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 9 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, and/or actuarial science; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time experience performing mathematical, statistical, actuarial or accounting computations in one or more of the following: a) a retirement or employee benefits plan; b) customer service in a financial
- A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1" or “2" above. College education may be substituted for experience in “2" above on the basis that 30 semester credits from an accredited college may be substituted for each year of required experience. However, all candidates must posses a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and either 9 semester credits
Preferred Skills
- A patient and empathetic attitude - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Great active listening skills with exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills - Strong time management and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment - Phone skills, including familiarity with cloud-based soft phones and integrated CRM software - Experience in the customer service for a public pension or similar financial industry - Basic troubleshooting skills - Proficiency with Salesforce CRM - Bilingual in English/ Spanish
