What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinating Manager Level A position at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan?

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and administers custodial activities.
  • Manages the landscaping company that provides services to Metropolitan Hospital.
  • Manages the overtime schedule for his department and manages a staff of six.
  • Makes inspections to determine if grounds meet safety protocols.
  • Supervises and directs the relocation of furniture relative to the movement of staff.
  • Supervises the removal and disposal of relinquished assets and discarded furniture.
  • Directs and administers custodial program to maintain the hospital premises in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Supervises the maintenance of campus grounds to ensure cleanliness and removal of waste/debris is being maintained.
  • Establishes standards, work methods and schedules with due consideration to traffic, visitors and work to be completed.
  • Oversees the upholstering company R&B.
  • Formulates plans for improving the custodial program.
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining records.
  • Directly assists and supervises with snow removal and groundwork.
  • Supervises and controls the repair of the Farington plates for the facility.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the custodial program and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintains open levels of communication with all staff to facilitate providing optimal levels of service.
  • Ensures staff follow all policies and procedures.
  • Participates in hospital-wide hazard surveillance and assessment activities.
  • Has authority to intervene whenever conditions pose an immediate danger to life or health, or threatens to damage equipment, buildings or grounds.
  • Ensures the department's representation on various Hospital wide Committees, Subcommittees and task forces.

Qualifications:

1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling, and three (3) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, two (2) years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician or three (3) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two (2) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
2. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed in (1), and two (2) years of full-time experience as listed in (1), plus one (1) year experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations as listed in (1); or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Note: Certification or licensure may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,960.00 - $64,354.00 per year
