What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lawyer position at NYC Law Firm?
Boutique firm in Financial District seeks an associate.
We specialize in litigation and administrative law in the real estate, land use, and construction areas of practice. Our litigation practice focuses on property damage and construction negligence tort cases, contract disputes, property law matters such as adverse possession and easements, and challenges to government agency action. We have decades of experience in representing property owners, architects and engineers, and construction professionals in administrative matters with, among others, the NYC Department of Buildings, Board of Standards and Appeals, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Department of City Planning, Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, and many others. We defend clients in administrative hearings, prepare applications for permits and licenses, apply for variances, and prosecute land use appeals.
We seek an associate with up to five years’ experience. Graduates from Classes of 2020 and 2021 will be considered.
Experience in Supreme Court in the five boroughs is a plus. Experience as a staff attorney at an agency at any level of government is a plus. We specialize in niche areas, so the ideal candidate is an attorney who does not want to repeat the same case, but gets excited about learning about esoteric areas of law and solving unusual problems.
Salary commensurate with experience. Health insurance available. Equal opportunity employer. Vaccination required, office currently hybrid but will return to in-person as circumstances permit.
Please send resume and recent writing sample.
