Background:
The Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE) was launched in April 2020 in response to the
disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. The Taskforce brings together over 100 City
Agency leaders – primarily of color – from 67 agencies and offices, working collectively to prioritize and drive
resources to the communities of color and neighborhoods hardest-hit by COVID-19 and increase equity for all
New Yorkers.
Since launching, TRIE has advanced new initiatives ranging from accelerating broadband access, to new
programs and policy initiatives to support M/WBE contracting. TRIE initiatives have resulted in over $380M in
new investment, targeting communities that have experienced long-standing inequities.
To ensure equity remains central to the City’s recovery and overall operations, TRIE is now a permanent
office within the Office of the Mayor. As an Office, TRIE will advance practices and policies that seek to
dismantle structural racism in city government and in city programs that serve New Yorkers. TRIE will
continue to serve as a convening body for City Agency leaders to develop and launch new initiatives that will
help create a more equitable city.
Position Description:
TRIE seeks a dynamic Administrative Coordinator to provide direct support to the Executive Director and
office.
Key Duties:
• Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing scheduling,
correspondence, preparing materials, and other related administrative duties
- Maintain updated records, files, contact lists, and other data sets for TRIE
- Manage external inquiries through a variety of communication channels
- Provide tactical and administrative support for TRIE convenings, events, subcommittee meetings,
- Working in collaboration with the Operations Manager, support employee onboarding and
- Regularly coordinate routine HR, IT, space, security, and other requests for TRIE
- Opportunity to lead special projects across TRIE initiatives
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work listed above
Education and Experience Preferred:
• High School diploma (or high school equivalency) and 3 years administrative
and/or operations experience
- Interest in racial equity and addressing socio-economic, health, gender, and other disparities
- Familiarity working within City government preferred
- Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment
Skills Desired:
• Entrepreneurial problem solver, strategic thinker, with exception organizational skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
- Mastery of MS Office and flexibility to learn other products, as required
- Prior lived and/or work experience in "hard-hit" neighborhoods preferred
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $70,000
