Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in providing high-quality eye care to our patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients and work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Duties:

- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including gathering patient medical history and conducting visual acuity tests

- Administer diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging

- Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures and surgeries

- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

- Provide patient education on eye health, medications, and post-operative care

- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining patient records

Requirements:

- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred

- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic or Mod Med (preferred)

- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy

- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and record patient information

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus

- Bilingual is a plus
